Ya Khayyal TheatreLAB
At Ya Khayyal TheatreLAB (Dream Your Way), local youth and refugees from Baqa’a Camp in Amman, Jordan, aged 16-23, discover their voices and creative potential at the Haya Cultural Center. As part of the direction team, I was involved in shaping the project’s artistic vision while also driving the social media campaign and branding efforts to amplify these powerful stories.
Eighteen carefully selected participants, guided by both Arab and international trainers, immerse themselves in the transformative world of theatre. They explore and hone their acting skills through giant puppetry, physical and object theatre, movement, and improvisational theatre. The training sessions culminated in a series of captivating shows featuring the handmade puppets, showcasing their newfound talents. This journey of creativity and expression peaks with spontaneous marches through the streets, where children and spectators joined in, transforming the city into a vibrant stage and bringing the community together in a celebration of art and resilience.
